After picking up a used Axe-Fx Ultra to use as a plug and play touring rig I've been having a rack renaissance; stumbling across HRI (which I was too late to sign up for before it closed) made me bust out a bunch of old rack gear I picked up on the cheap as a teenager. While they can't really hold a candle to the flexibility and power of the Fractal, there's a definite charm to older units like the ADA MP-1 and Intellifex. Let's see yours!

Cool rack. I had the JMP-1 a long time ago. ADA... classic! :-)

I am currently splitting equipment from a former guitar studio rack (ever seen Michael Wagener's one on his studio?) The initial idea was to have everything wired to a patchbay, and then have the chance to route in the patchbay "anything-to-anything". Well, the Studio project went down until further notice, and I decided to split things. So I managed to built a home studio rack somewhat similar to my live rack (On the "Live" one there is a Chandler Rack Tube Driver, and in the "Studio" one there lies a Rocktron Gainiac instead), and then build with two small racks (2-space, and 2 3-space) some sort of "on/off" patcheable solution, just in case the occasion may arise for me to take some of the gear out for a ride So there is my ol' trusty MP1 along with an Art Multiverb (Nice and enough for most of any blues/rock gig, controlled by a Rockman MidiPedal, plugged into my Peavey Classic50) on top, then a 3-space rack with some of the tools I may eventually use when I'm playing bass (A comp, some EQ, and an original SansAmp Rack for adding some grittiness every now and then...). The Fender PA 100 provides for some nice 6L6GC's power, specially when I'm using other preamps, and in the patchbay I can choose from several sources (Including dry/wet signals from the MP-1 rig, and a Rockman Distortion Generator and a Boss Pro CL50 compressor which can also be seen here) and several amps and cabs combinations I use for recording (The PA100 for 6L6 sound, a Laney Cubhead15 for EL84 flavor, a silverface Fender Champ (Which lives, already miked, wired and pre-set, on some sort of Iso-Box I made at the end of the closet) and a VOX VR15 for some hybrid tone. Also any eventual solid-state combo that may be around. On the pictures can be seen part of a custom-made 4x10" loaded with Yamahas and Eminences. There are also a V30's loaded 2x12" a jensen-loaded 1x12", a custom cab with an eminence 15", and some crappy cab with an 8" for speakers.). In the Studio Rack there is the Bass gear first (Sabine tuner, Yamaha PB1 preamp, an MXR Dual Limiter -with the right channel busted, however I patched the left ch. out on the right ch. in, and now I can switch the MXR to either be on bypass, or clean comp, or some tasty bass saturation, or some kind of double comp when on linked mode-, then a Digitech RDS1900 for some chorusing. Then for Guitar the Live rack replica: An Aphex quad gate, a modded BBE 381 SS preamp, then the Rocktron gainac, from there to the Roland GP-8, the Art Multiverb and the Midiverb III. The signal flow, however, is a little more complex than just this. And here the Live rack (Which originally was intended to be W/D/W, but am seriously planning to make it a stereo rig, thus liberating the Classic50 -former "Dry" center to this rig- to other duties), with the addition of a MosValve Power Amp for a couple 4x12's:

Thanks, I´m really pleased with it now. It can function either as a guitar rack with heads loaded thru the Palmer and a Boogie power amp or as an aux FX rack for my DAW, depending on the MIDI program. Very useful.

Mentoneman!
Always wanted an eggie M4, Bet that sounds amazing. The first time I heard a Egnater, it was an IE4 at Hot Lava, near university Ave, through a VHT classic, or VHT 2150, cant remember the exact poweramp, but it was one of those. That rig sounded so HUGE and phenomenal. (check your pm at HRI soon, it's almost D day!). When synergy comes out I may be tempted to get something like that. Although I have to say, I'm set as I need to be with my CAE 3+SE rig. Guess I'll have to take a picture of my rig today and post it!
Cheers,
Tom

Nice! i will always have a soft spot in my heart for eggie stuff. the tol 50 and 100 lasted for a decade in my life and bruce is a great guy whom i have had the pleasure of hanging with several times over the years. hearing and pkaying through the m4 was like coming home.
this one is loaded with the twin/deluxe, vox, sl2, and eg5 and all sound epic, but of course ever the tweaker....
i could refine it somewhat to an eggie twin/bassman, eggie vox module is great as is unless it could be vox ch1 and , sl2 might be sweeter as a mojave plexi45/friedman small box, and if eg5 could become a carol ann eric johnson lead tone / cameron atomica 2ch module...all with fryette power section...heaven!
cae pre is nothing to sneeze at though! too bad you are in texas and not oahu!!

New addition to the family today! Right under the THR amp Offscreen/not hooked up: Rolls switcher, Boss CE-300 Super Chorus, Boss VF-1 (NICE chorus there as well!), blackface Rocktron Intellifex, and a Gallien-Krueger 2000PCL preamp (I like Rush, can you tell? )
