Thanks for the replies! Scott, I should have mentioned that I need to keep the cost under a grand, and even used JVMs go for more than that. If I could afford it, I'd definitely be looking at a JVM!

I've been playing for many decades, yet somehow, I've never owned a Marshall amp of any kind, and I'm thinking I'd like to finally get one. I'm looking at the 6100LM as it seems to be well-regarded and is relatively affordable, and wondered if anyone had any opinions or experiences with it. Good amp? Versatile? Anything to be aware of or to be concerned about?
Thanks for your thoughts!

It's probably heresy, but I've never been at all attracted to beat up-looking axes. It's kind of cool to see certain people play one (i.e. old blues players or Keith Richards), but I'd never want one for myself. But if you're going that route, I much prefer the authenticity of actually wearing it out yourself as opposed to buying a pre-aged guitar. A pre-aged axe just seems sort of fake and dishonest somehow, like pretending you've "paid your dues" when you really haven't.

It turns out that on my PC that I use as a DAW, I have an M-Audio Delta 1010LT that has a MIDI interface. I came across a program called "MIDIWizard" from White Horse Software that has a version specifically for the PSA-1. They are currently selling their products on eBay, so I bought it for $28. I needed a little help to get it going, and their support was superb. I was then able to quickly and easily backup all of my presets as well as single presets. Very cool program! They support several other MIDI devices as well. If anyone else needs a way to backup their PSA-1, I can recommend MIDIWizard.

Thanks for the tips, I appreciate it! I'll start looking into a MIDI interface for the computer and go from there. I wasn't aware there were any firmware updates for the PSA-1 (or even that it could be updated), so I'll look into that as well. Thanks again!

I have an old original version Tech 21 PSA-1 preamp, and would like to find a way to backup its presets, preferably onto a Windows computer. I asked the company, but they did not have any suggestions. Does anyone have any thoughts on how I might be able to do this - cables, software, whatever?

I recently became aware of the DV Mark Multiamp, and wondered if anyone has any actual experience with it. It seems really versatile and the YouTube clips generally sound pretty good, but I'd like to hear if anyone is using it, especially live, and how it works out for them. I'm seriously considering it as I could downsize my rig a fair amount with one if the sound and feel are there. I'd love to try one in person, but they are not easy to find, so hopefully someone who has one can chime in. Thanks!

Hello, and thanks very much for providing a place where all of the HRI refugees can carry on!
I don't want to sound nit-picky, but has anyone considered changing the board color scheme? Small light-gray type on a white background is extremely difficult to read, and actually makes me think twice about even trying to read the posts here. The light orange font is not much better. Looking at other such forums, I am sure there are much better color schemes that provide better contrast and make reading posts enjoyable rather than painful.
Anyway, thanks again for the forum, and I hope you consider the changing the color scheme!
